Leather Furniture Cleaning Tips

The leather furniture cleaning tips are necessary to learn if one wishes to have this furniture at home. The following tips have to be followed:

The first step to clean leather furniture is to remove all the dirt in the crevices and sides of the leather by using vacuum cleaner with a soft brush. The dirt is abrasive and should be removed before cleaning with liquid solution. 

Prepare the cleaning solution by mixing water and white vinegar in equal parts or a commercial cleaner in water. Use a soft cloth and make it damp to clean the furniture. Dry up the furniture with a clean towel.

The leather requires conditioning after cleanup with a cleaning solution; a homemade conditioner can be used. Mix one part of white vinegar with two parts of linseed or olive oil and apply in circular motions on the furniture leaving it overnight.

· Clean the furniture with a cloth next day to give final shining look to the furniture.

· Stains removal from leather furniture:

• Mold and mildew often grow up on the leather furniture when placed in the moist conditions. An equal amount of water and alcohol can be used as a cleaning solution for this purpose.
• The permanent stains of ink can be removed by rubbing alcohol or spraying with an aerosol solution.
• The greasy stains of oil can be removed by sprinkling baking soda on the stains which will absorb the oil and clean it off after few hours. 

� The leather furniture often gets dirty with dark colored stains that can be removed by making a paste of lemon juice and tartar and applying on stains for ten minutes. Wipe with a damp cloth and dry the furniture.

· The furniture should be dried properly after cleaning with solutions and conditioners as moisture would result in mold growth.
